University of the Cordilleras – College of Engineering proudly showcased four student teams (ReTela, Prowess, Swayon, and Sunguard) during the UC Make-a-thon 2026, held as part of the University of the Cordilleras’ Research and Innovation Week. The event highlighted the students’ creativity, technical skills, and ability to develop solutions for real-world challenges.
ReTela, a collaborative team from the BS Mechatronics Engineering and BS Computer Engineering programs, emerged as the Champion. Their achievement demonstrated the strength of interdisciplinary teamwork and the potential of engineering innovation to create meaningful and practical solutions.
Representing the BS Computer Engineering program, Prowess secured 1st Runner Up and received the Best Pitch Award for its clear and compelling presentation. Swayon, also from the BS Computer Engineering program, proudly represented the college, while Sunguard of the BS Electronics Engineering program earned 2nd Runner Up.
The accomplishments of all four COE teams reflect their dedication, ingenuity, and commitment to excellence. Congratulations to ReTela, Prowess, Swayon, and Sunguard, as well as their advisers and supporters, for representing the College of Engineering with pride at the UC Make-a-thon 2026.
The success of the College of Engineering teams also reflects the University of the Cordilleras’ commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education by fostering innovation-driven learning, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the development of technology-based solutions to real-world problems, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration among students, faculty, and industry stakeholders. Through initiatives such as the UC Make-a-thon, students are empowered to transform their knowledge into impactful innovations that contribute to sustainable development and address the evolving needs of society.
