UC-CoE continues to advance its internationalization efforts as six Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering students begin a transformative internship in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. This initiative underscores the university’s strong commitment to providing globally relevant education by creating opportunities that extend beyond the classroom and across borders. Through its strategic partnership with Actron Technology Corporation, a leader in automotive electronics, UC empowers its students to engage directly with cutting-edge industry practices, strengthening both their technical expertise and global perspective, key attributes for succeeding in today’s highly competitive and interconnected world.
From May 5 to November 1, 2026, the students will be immersed in the design and development of electronic components for modern vehicles, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in a real-world engineering environment. Reinforcing its dedication to student support and academic quality, UC has deployed the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Rose Ellen Macabiog, together with OJT Adviser Engr. Dionisio Tandingan Jr., to guide and monitor the students throughout the program. Their presence reflects the university’s commitment to ensuring that learning outcomes are achieved while prioritizing the safety, well-being, and holistic development of its students abroad.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this initiative actively contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing inclusive and high-quality learning experiences beyond national boundaries. It also supports SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by equipping students with industry-relevant skills that enhance employability in the global workforce, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening collaboration between UC and international industry partners. More than an academic requirement, this internship embodies UC’s vision of developing globally competent, socially responsible engineers. By continuously investing in international partnerships and student mobility, the University of the Cordilleras reaffirms its role as a forward-looking institution dedicated to excellence, innovation, and meaningful global engagement.
