UC College of Engineering Upholds National Standards in PRB-SE Blended Inspection

Demonstrating a steadfast commitment to academic rigor and professional compliance, the University of the Cordilleras (UC) College of Engineering joined the Professional Regulatory Board of Sanitary Engineering (PRB-SE) in a comprehensive blended inspection today, April 13, 2026, focused on the evaluation of educational facilities and professional standards.

The inspection was conducted in accordance with Republic Act No. 1364, or the “Sanitary Engineering Law,” which mandates the Board to oversee the ethical and technological standards of educational institutions. The inspection team, led by Hon. Robert S. Licup (Chairman, PRB-SE) and Hon. Graciano B. Calayan, Jr. (Member, PRB-SE), with assistance from PRC-CAR, meticulously reviewed the program’s facilities and instructional quality.

Headed by Engr. Rose Ellen N. Macabiog, Dean of the College of Engineering, together with Engr. Mark Gibson M. Pusod, Sanitary Engineering Department Program Chair and other Sanitary Engineering faculty members represented the department’s continuous improvements in curriculum delivery and laboratory infrastructure. This successful engagement reinforces UC’s position as a compliant and forward-thinking institution, ensuring that our Sanitary Engineering graduates are prepared to meet the stringent demands of the professional industry.

For the UC-CoE, this inspection is more than a regulatory requirement, it is a testament to our unwavering commitment to Outcomes-Based Education (OBE). By maintaining strict compliance with the technological and ethical standards set by the Board, UC ensures that its Sanitary Engineering students are trained in an environment that mirrors the complexities of modern professional practice. This successful inspection highlights our faculty’s dedication and our facilities’ readiness to produce top-tier engineers.

This regulatory milestone directly advances the University’s contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). By maintaining a high-caliber Sanitary Engineering program validated by the PRB-SE, UC ensures the development of professionals capable of engineering solutions for water security and resilient urban environments. Furthermore, the successful inspection reinforces our commitment to SDG 4 (Quality Education), ensuring that our pedagogical approach remains aligned with both national statutory requirements and global professional benchmarks.
