UC-CoE Computer Engineering Program Undergoes Level I PAASCU Accreditation Visit

UC-CoE successfully hosted the Level I Formal Survey Visit for its Computer Engineering Program on March 23–24, 2026, marking a significant step in its continuing pursuit of academic excellence and quality assurance. This formal accreditation visit follows the Preliminary Survey conducted on October 17–18, 2024, where the program was recommended eligible to apply for a Formal Survey, paving the way for a more comprehensive evaluation.

The visit was conducted under the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities, a recognized accrediting body committed to ensuring high standards in Philippine education. The accreditation team was composed of distinguished experts in engineering education, including Engr. Nestley Sore of Adamson University, who served as Team Chairperson for Results (Sub-areas 8.2 and 8.3), Engr. Dany Molina of Central Philippine University for Resource Management, Engr. Sergio Peruda, Jr. of Asia Pacific College for Teaching-Learning and Results (Sub-area 8.1), and Mr. Alven Gonzaga as the PAASCU representative. Over the course of the two-day visit, the team conducted a thorough assessment of the program’s curriculum, faculty qualifications, laboratory facilities, research initiatives, student services, and overall learning outcomes through document reviews, interviews, and onsite inspections.

The accreditation process underscores the University’s strong commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in engineering education, while also aligning with the goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in advancing Quality Education, fostering Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and promoting Decent Work and Economic Growth. By adhering to these global standards, the Computer Engineering Program aims to produce graduates who are not only technically competent but also responsive to the evolving demands of industry and society.

As the University anticipates the results of the Level I accreditation, it remains hopeful for a positive outcome that will affirm the quality of its Computer Engineering Program and further strengthen its role as a leading institution in engineering education in the Cordillera region and beyond. The successful conduct of the visit reflects the collective effort of administrators, faculty, students, and stakeholders in upholding a culture of excellence and accountability.
