The On-the-Job Training (OJT) coordinator of the Computer Engineering (CpE) department, Engr. Dionisio Tandingan Jr., recently visited several industry partners where graduating CpE students are deployed. The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration, ensure quality internship experiences, and reinforce the department’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
The companies visited include Benguet Electric Company (BENECO), Concentrix Baguio–Ayala, the Department of Information and Communications Technology–Cordillera Administrative Region (DICT-CAR), Global Agility Solutions, Management Information and Technology Division (MITD) of the Baguio City Hall, and Mines and Geosciences-CAR.
During the visit on November 21,24, 2025, Engr. Tandingan engaged with company supervisors to discuss student performance, assess workplace integration, and evaluate how the assigned tasks contribute to the students’ academic and professional development. Feedback was also gathered on technical competencies, workplace readiness, and potential areas for strengthening the internship program.
These visits highlight the department’s ongoing commitment to providing industry-relevant learning experiences that enhance student preparedness for future careers. By nurturing strong collaborations with partner organizations, the university continues to uphold its role in advancing quality education and fostering sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships, both essential pillars of the SDGs.
