UC-COE continues to demonstrate academic excellence as its student representatives competed in the IECEP National Student Summit Elite Electronics Quiz Show held on October 21, 2025, at the Marikina Convention Center. After securing victory at the regional Elite Electronics Quiz Show hosted by the University of Baguio earlier in October, the UC team advanced to the national stage with confidence and skill.
During the national competition, participants from top institutions across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao showcased their technical expertise in various electronics and engineering concepts. UC’s representatives, Jomari Layugan and Jay Guwayne Dueñas, delivered outstanding performances as they faced strong contenders from universities nationwide. Their exceptional teamwork and knowledge earned them 1st Place in the Innobytes competition, marking a proud moment for the university and the region.
This achievement also aligns with the university’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by nurturing high-level academic competencies and fostering competitive learning experiences. It further reflects SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, as the competition encourages innovation, problem-solving, and technological advancement among young engineers. Additionally, the collaborative spirit displayed throughout the summit supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, strengthening connections between institutions and promoting shared growth within the engineering community.
The UC-COE extends its heartfelt congratulations to Jomari Layugan and Jay Guwayne Dueñas for bringing home this national victory and continuing UC’s legacy of excellence.
